Trumbull - MIsty Morning
It was a warm but overcast and misty morning. I headed over to Trumbull but the ground cover was kinda wet so I decided to ride the rail trail.
Rail Trail
Despite the gray weather it was actually quite charming on the Rail Trail. I imagine the warm temperatures were the reason I found it so enjoyable.
A bit overcast but still very scenic! |
This would be a great place to perform on my Native American flute |
Hiking in the Park
After my Rail Trail ride I stashed the bike back on the car and headed in with the rake to do some TM.
Hmmm... coming soon! |
Ah yes another nice spot to play the flute |
Scenic!! |
At the old trail by the cliffs |
Gotta love it here! |

Autumn In The Valley | Yellow Blazes
It was a beautiful autumn day and Kevin and I spent a few hours enjoying the scenery while updating the yellow blazes. It was chilly but thankfully it gradually warmed up. As always... a great day in the valley!
We explored an awesome side trail that lead us above the billboard cliff.Wow - Remnants of ancient glacial/water torrents |
Ah yes - we refreshed the yellow blazes up to the fire road.

Quickie At Luther Forest
After my impromptu concert yesterday upstate at The Indian Kill Nature Preserve, I headed over to Luther Forest for a quickie Sunday morning. I had agreed to meet my mother for a chat late morning so I only had time to do the south loops. Needless to say it's always fun bombing on the trails at Luther.
I hadn't been there in quite a while and there was a lot of evidence of forestry activity (large swaths of cut areas). The weather was a but chilly but the sun was out. It as a great (but too short) ride :-)

Lots of cut areas (forestry) |
I always love ferns!... |

Restoring Sanity
Who's sanity? Mine
The Woodway Park entrance has been blocked by large rocks (Thanks Stamford Park and Rec. and Stamford Police). Previously destroyed by ATVs (documented here) - the park (with a bit of work) can return to normalcy - nice erosion -free single track trails...
