Another hike at Indian Kill

After visiting my mother, Chad (an old friend and fellow musician) met me and we hiked to First Falls. We started at 3:30 and it was dusk by the time we finished. It is really a wonderful park!

Second and First Falls - Indian Kill

After visiting my still vibrant 100-year old mother at the Glendale Home,  I stopped by to hike the Indian Kill Nature Preserve. It is truly an awesome park - sections make you feel that you were hiking in a primordial forest untouched for thousands of years.

I entering from the old Woodlin Pool Club parking lot and just hiked the western section of the park - most of the trails west of Third Falls were all new to me. It was a really nice adventure!

Its a beautiful place - so glad the town has kept it a Nature Preserve!

Woodlin Club to Third Falls

After a nice visit with my mother at the Glendale Home, I decided--on a whim--to check out the former Woodlin Club. I had read a while back that the town of Glenville had bought it and wondered what it was like now...

There's a parking lot... 

...and a long curved mowed descent thru the fields to the woods.

Once in the woods, it was a short descent to the falls area.

I first took a left and reascended the steep hill which brought me to the fence and then another very steep descent.

I backtracked and went down to the river's edge.

Lastly I went east along the yellow trail for a bit and got a nice photo of the sun thru the trees
