North of Howe - afternoon explorations...

I spent a little time this afternoon exploring the hilly area north of Howe. It is riddled with all kinds of leafed-over dirt bike trails. I am determined to figure what may be good mountain trails in this area - the terrain is awesome!

It was a beautiful day - especially for February! Sunny and in the mid forties when I took this late afternoon hike....

Exploring Old Trail Remnants EoK

On Tuesday the weather was a bit warmer so I returned to explore the trail remnants north of Howe Street. 

After hiking along the dry riverbed I discovered a relatively flat area with a few dirt bike trails. This terrain has some great possibilities for mountain biking!

Along the dry riverbed there's a clearly defined trail...

At the first distinguishable fork I headed left  (slightly uphill)

Which eventually led me to a somewhat flat area criss-crossed with dirt bike trails.

I did have to veer off the trail remnants to reconnect with the trail  I created...
